Weaving Lab
Weaving section is constituted with three different workshops/units in IIHT, Guwahati, including a powerloom section. All the workshops are fully equipped with improvised prototype looms and equipments for imparting semester-wise practical training as per academic syllabus of the DHTT Course. Here, under the guidance and supervision of skilled faculties and textile technologists the students of the Institute in particular and the wavers in general from different handloom weaving societies are taught, hand to hand, various activities and techniques of weaving in different looms, developing cloth samples with different yarns/fabrics in combination with designs and colour.
