1) How can I get admission?

2) What is the qualification for admission?
The candidates should have passed 10th Standard or equivalent examination with English as a subject of study.
3) What is the age limit for admission?
The age limit for general candidates should be between 15 to 23 years and for SC/ST candidates between 15 to 25 years
4) Is there any reservation of seats?
- 20% of the total seats allocated to a State are reserved for candidates belonging to Weavers’ Community (Profession). Shortfall will be met out from the candidates other than Weavers’ Community (Profession).
- So far as reservation of seats for admission of SC/ST/OBC/MOBC candidate is concerned, the respective State Directorates will follow the prevailing reservation policy of their states.
5) What is the commencement date of the course?
Academic session starts from 16th July every year.
6) How can I get information for admission?
Advertisement publishes by the respective State Governments during the month of April-May every year in leading newspapers and media.
7) What are the future prospects of the course?
After completion of the course, candidates can opt for higher education, viz. Post Diploma, B. Tech in the relevant field. Also job opportunity is available in Government and Private Sectors.
8) What are the states covered under the jurisdiction of this Institute and availability of quota of seats?
Assam-19 seats, Manipur-11 seats, Tripura-9 seats, Nagaland-5 seats, Mizoram-2 seats, Meghalaya-2 seats, Arunachal Pradesh-4 seats and Sikkim-3 seats.
9) What is duration of the course?
The duration of the course is 3 years (six semesters).
